Information on Jowy's family members..
By blood:
Rosa Atreides- Jowy's blood mother. Her current
husband, Marcel, is only her second husband. She appears to be
the only loving figure to Jowy in the Atreides household. Jowy
is told she's ashamed of him by his stepfather and stepbrother
when he is disowned, but it's more than likely a lie. I
personally think she's afraid of Marcel, whom she flees
with to Harmonia when Jowy becomes King of Highland.
By marriage:
Marcel Atreides- Jowy's cold, stern stepfather. He
has a hatred for Jowy because he is the son of Rosa (his wife's)
former husband and tends to treat Marco, his blood son, much
better than Jowy. He expels Jowy from the Atreides household
when Jowy is accused of being a spy early on in the game. He
tells Jowy the most cold, horrible thing to say to a frightened
boy being carried away by soldiers that only wants to see his
only blood relative one last time (wow, bad sentence): "She said
she doesn't want to see you," which is a horrid lie.
I really really don't like Marcel. He's a cold, uncaring,
horrible demon of a man. He has a serious jealousy problem,
shown by his contempt for Jowy with little reason, and is so
cowardly that when Jowy rises to the rank of King, he flees to
Harmonia to escape being punished- when family is one of the
reasons Jowy went back to Highland! Ugh.
Marco Atreides- Not to be confused with Marcel
Atreides. Jowy's spoiled little stepbrother. He's a very minor
character in Suikoden II (he only has one line), so not much is
known about him besides the fact that he's Marcel's only
biological son. I don't like Marcel either, since from the
one line he does say ("Goodbye, Jowy. You aren't my big brother
anymore."), you can tell he's very stuck up and takes after
Marcel a lot (ick).
Jillia Blight- Jowy's wife, who really does love Jowy
(and if you watch the Suikogaiden intro, there's almost a
100% chance that you'll think he loves her too.) Jowy has a
crush on her that's been there since really early, revealed by a
very cute flashback scene of Jowy and Hero spying
on her over a brick wall so Jowy can show his friend how cute
she is. She isn't really a villain in my eyes because of
how much she actually helps the Alliance. Despite the fact
that she and Jowy married so Jowy could gain power in Highland,
they appear to really love each other at endgame, and especially
in the Suikogaiden opening.
Luca Blight- Jowy's brother in law via Jillia. He's one
the most interesting characters in the game, as he went totally
insane a while ago when ruffians hired by the City-State
Alliance raped and attacked his mother, Sarah Blight, in front
of him as a little boy while his father fled. Ever since, he's
been trying to get his revenge by destroying every inch of
Jowston. Jowy hates him because of the trauma he caused for
Pilika and children like her by killing their parents, but he also
admires his leadership and strength. Luca is the one who
commands Jowy to betray the Alliance when he is captured at the
Highland camp.
Agares Blight- Luca's father and Jowy's stepfather-in-law.
He was the King of Highland before Jowy poisoned him by drinking
antitoxin daily for a week and then infecting his blood. Luca
resented him for fleeing during the State attack.
Pilika- She doesn't fit into any category, but she is
brought in by Jowy about halfway in the game. She's pretty
much his adopted daughter after that. She's the one Jowy
worries about most out of everyone he knows, even including
Jillia. She's also the girl who saved his life after he
drowned in the river before she became an orphan.
